The SEO Precertification Academy is a highly interactive training program that teaches the duties and responsibilities of a local agency sewage enforcement officer (SEO). The academy is currently being revised to make it a combination of self-study materials that SEO candidates must complete on their own and hands-on, interactive classroom and/or field materials that will be taught by experienced SEO instructors.
When completed, the new academy will consist of seven courses: Orientation, Site Evaluation and Testing, Technical Criteria for Onlot Sewage Systems, Malfunctions, Administration, Reimbursement, and Planning. Currently, only the Orientation is available as a self-study course.
Until the other six courses are created and phased in, SEO candidates will continue to take the existing six-day classroom-based SEO Precertification Academy after completing the Orientation materials on their own.
